As some of you may know, ive started college and will be on less and less as time goes on. :(
but every now and again ill get the chance to play.
at the moment im doing BTEC Engineering National Diploma :D from Monday - Wednesday 9am-5pm (Wednesday 9am-1pm)
but i have applied for the NVQ2 and if they decide its ok for me to do this course too, it will take up Thursday and Friday 9am-5pm.
Meaning Mon-Fri work work WORK

What is the point in the level 2? BTEC is level 3...
I have level 1, 2 and 3 in IT, aquired 1 in school, 2 in my first year of college and 3, earlier this year at a place called zenos.
But they're all the same really, just do btec...

wrong, BTEC is theory NVQ2 is practical, there for if i do both ill have more qualifications and more chance of getting an apprenticeship.
Engineering, IT, different...

Problem is that theory means more than the practical. But if you wanna do that then it's a waste of time.
You could say it's for experience but you get fuck all really. My mate did it.
And now... HE DOES GARDENING!
Just a heads up really... doesn't count as experience in a job lol.

not in a job but when you apply for a job i can say i already done practical, BTEC has no practical. its only 2 days a week not a waste of time tbh.
a waste of time would be sitting at home for them 2 days doing nothing. :)

You can say that but they won't actually give a shit. I know 'cos my mate went through it lol. Waste of your time but w/e.
Same with me too... IT, Level 2 was more practical but do they care? No.
They want commercial experience. It's shitty I know but me and people I know have been there and you have it to come.

Since when did you come from England and know what happens?
We're over populated and the people who get all the jobs are the ones with experience.
Me and my mate are a prime example of that.
So my mate in effect is the SAME.
And I live in a fucking huge city like Manchester... of all places.
Lol I wish that here in Poland I could get a job after what, two years of college? I study two faculties on the best university in Poland and on 6th place in Europe and still, with two foreign languages I have no perspectives on work:P

Enjoy the even shitter weather than England (I'm part Scottish so I'm allowed to say that ;p)
Yeh Manchester is gunna be bloody hard to get a job. And I'm spending the next 3 years of my life there!
Fortunately I can get a job that no foreigners can have... RAF :p

I think you are going about it all the right way Spikling! ;)
The more qualies the better! Take it from someone who sits on interview panels and assists with the filtration process! If you have proven that you are able to learn as an adult then you become more attractive to certain employers! You've always been a looker to me mate lol! :D
And if that isnt enough you are going to back it up with practical stuff as well. Good luck man work hard! you never know it may all pay off! :)

Spikes everything u do more is better for u. If two candidates want the same job I guess one will get it who has better qualifications, in this situation the one with more points/degrees, dunno how to call it. Good luck mate

See how far ahead I am with my drumming after Uni and if it's not going anywhere going to apply for a pilot. Failing that, work as a musician instead :)
Engineer sounds awesome. Wish I could do physics, maths etc..
